Yummy Yum Yum
I had this long list of food-to-eat for when I was in Singapore, but there are only so many meals you can eat in 15 days right?
Still, I think I did manage to stuff myself with quite a lot of food when I was back… I’ll highlight them in individual entries in days to come! :)
**
The first in line, is of course, the most memorable.
Memorable, for two reasons.
1) It was the first official meeting with the boy’s parents.
2) The food was absolutely brilliant.
(And it didn’t cost S$ 285. It was, in fact, less than S$ 100 per person.)
I’m always hesistant to try Thai food, ’cause in my limited food-world, Thai food has sour tendencies. But in this case, I managed to survive an entire Thai meal without any sour-ness!
Well, actually, the food was fusion. I had a “New-Age Roast Duck Curry” for my main; It was perfect. The duck was beautifully roasted, the curry had unbelievably yummy spices, and was rich and creamy, with just a tinge of spiciness.
For something like S$ 60 – 70+++ per head (I think, don’t quote me on this, since I didn’t foot the bill), you get a choice of appetizer, a choice of soup, a choice of mains, and a choice of dessert.
Desserts comes in yummy-licious fusion forms too, like “Pandan Tiramisu”, and I managed to escape sourness by evading the Tom Yum soup, going for a very flavourful Fish Soup.
(If you’re looking at their website, don’t worry, the menu is a lot more varied than what they have on their website.)
The price is good, the food is good, the atmostphere is even better.
Stark red and black furniture, cosy booths for 4 complete with curtains for privacy, very quiet, and very tasteful. I like. And it was almost empty on a Friday night. An undiscovered gem. Please don’t bring all your rowdy friends there k? I hope to re-visit it in all its quiet splendour when I’m back. :D
