Switzerland
In Zurich…I
missed a flight for the first time ever, (Actually, it was in London. From London Heathrow to Zurich. A replacement flight cost me £120 and 7 hours.)

was intrigued by this railway track going through an apartment.

learnt how to navigate the Swiss railway system. (No mean feat, I assure you.)

In Lucerne, I…
saw a lake with water so clear you could see pebbles beneath,

put on at least 10 pounds from gorging on cheese,

saw pretty buildings on mountains, (how do the people here climb up so many mountains on a daily basis?)

enjoyed a clear view of The Swiss Alps from every possible angle,

wished I could spend days just having picnics in the gorgeous parks,

visited an art museum full of Picasso’s works,

and entered the Swiss National Transport Museum for free.

In Interlaken, I…
had breakfast on the train,

took a very steep train up an icy mountain,

stood on Europe’s highest point,

admired the view from Jungfraujoch,

built a snowman,

had a cold platter,

with truckloads of bread cubes,

for a fondue,

pored over maps,

and enjoyed a view of The Alps from my balcony.

In Gruyere… I
had breakfast on the train again,

had another hot chocolate with whipped cream,

visited the Cailler chocolate factory that had free flow of chocolates for you to “sample”,

climbed up to the Gruyere Castle,

retched over a real, decaying, mummified, chopped-off hand on display,

and marvelled over a towel dryer (see the controls above the rack? You can even change the temperature and auto-set the timer!).
